OPTIMIZING PSPX6 (32 BIT) FOR COMPATIBILITY WITH 3RD PARTY PLUGINS IN WIN 7, 8
Some 3rd Party Plugins will not work as expected in PSPX6 (32 bit) and Windows 7, 8
Below are a 3 options that should enable most (if not all) 3rd Party plugins to work as expected in PSP X6, Windows 7, 8. Some people apply all 3 options, others have found that it was necessary to apply only 1 or 2. It really depends on your operating system and the type of filters you use.
it is assumed that you already have all the necessary dll files installed for Windows 7, 8
OPTION 1
If you have Filters Unlimited, import the filters you can into Filters Unlimited. They usually work without any issues from there.
I have many filters imported into Filters Unlimited and love the convenience of using filters from within the program. On the other hand, some filters cannot be imported plus, if you do not have Filters Unlimited, the second option outlined below enables most (if not all) 3rd Party plug-ins to work as expected in PSP X6 (32 bit), Windows 7,8 without the necessity of importing them into Filters Unlimited.
OPTION 2
Make PSP X6 (32 bit) compatible to run all 32 bit plugins
1. Right click on the PSP X6 (32 bit) desktop icon
2. Select "properties"
3. Click on Compatibility tab (See screen shot below)
4. put a check mark in "Run this program in Compatibility mode for":
5. click on down arrow and choose Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
6. put a check mark in "Run this program as an administrator"
7. Click on Change settings for all users button
8. put a check mark in "Run this program in Compatibility mode for":
9. click on down arrow and choose Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
10. put a check mark in "Run this program as an administrator"
11. Click OK, Click OK again
OPTION 3
I have not found this 3rd Option to be necessary using PSP X6 in Windows 7, however, some others have.
Turn off DEP (Data Execution Prevention) for selected programs.
In this situation, you would be turning off DEP for PSP X6 (32 bit).
Below is a link that outlines the steps to do so.
NB...DEP is a security feature for Windows 7....so.....Please read all the instructions and "cautions" provided.

I hope you have found the above information helpful.
Good luck.
